2025 Civics Immersion Trip: Student Information & Parental Consent

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

Congratulations! Your student has been selected to participate in the Civics Immersion Experience, an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., hosted by the Florida Debate Initiative (FDI). This exciting opportunity allows students to deepen their understanding of government and civic engagement through hands-on learning experiences, including visits to Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court, the National Archives, and other historical landmarks.

Please note that this is a non-school-sponsored event. The Florida Debate Initiative is hosting this civics immersion experience. The FDI is a non-partisan nonprofit organization and a proud partner of the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative, Florida Education Foundation, and the Florida Department of Education.

To secure your student’s spot, a $75 refundable deposit is required. This deposit will only be refunded upon the student's successful participation in the trip. However, it will not be refunded if the student cancels due to a non-life-threatening event or a non-documented health emergency.

In order to complete this form: Please download the documents linked above, sign, and upload a photo or file to the designated upload spot below.
